Before I share my own end-of-week reflection questions, let me highlight how we do it in Ruth’s coaching group.
We have a power planning session with Ruth in her Do It Scared Coaching Program where we begin with a Friday reflection. Everyone shares with Ruth their answer to her simple question, how did your week go?
What is a weekly reflection?
A weekly reflection is a deliberate practice of looking back at our week to see how everything went. Different people reflect on their week for various reasons. Some people want to record their memories, others record their behaviors and thoughts to learn more about themselves. Some people want to keep an eye on their performance and goal accomplishment so they can make adjustments to their coming week accordingly.

An end of week reflection means being honest with yourself.
Most importantly, it means you pay attention to whatever is happening in life and adjust as needed.
In the DIS coaching program, our weekly review focuses on sharing:
- our wins or what went well
- lessons to learn from things that didn’t go well
This simple weekly review is super powerful and keeps everyone on their toes all week long.

Here are 14 super important weekly questions to ask yourself at the end of the week. If you start using the questions given below, you will also be compelled to do pick healthy practices like reading, taking care of your body and health and not losing sight of your yearly goals.
Weekly reflection questions

- What are my lessons from things that didn’t go quite as well?
- Any projects or tasks I completed?
- Any pending tasks?
- Did I stick to my plan and stay organized?
- How much progress did I make on my yearly goals
- What (quote, affirmation or anything else) kept me inspired?
- Any area of life or skill I improved in?
- What action or habit am I proud of?
- How much did I read?
- What made me happy?
- What made me stressed, unhappy or angry?
- Anything I did to take care of my physical body?
- What am I grateful for the most this week?

How do you write a weekly reflective journal?
You will need an easy to carry a plain notebook and a pen. It’s good if your journal doesn’t get easily dirty and the pen can be kept inside it.
You can use the above week in review questions and note the answers in your journal.
Those answers would be only for you to read and clear the head.
